As Wayne State prepares for the series finale, they hold a 23-26 overall record this season, 11-12 within the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), while Parkside stands at 30-18 overall and 12-11 in the GLIAC.
In the first game of the doubleheader, all four of Parkside's runs came from unearned occasions. Wayne State scored two runs in the fifth inning with hits from Ty Garza and Jacoby Dale. However, Parkside secured their victory with an additional run in the sixth inning.
The second game saw Wayne State tying the score at 1-1 in the second inning with a solo home run from Aidan Arbogast. Despite this, Parkside secured a lead by the fifth inning, and although Wayne State reduced the deficit in the ninth with a hit from Bennett Hitzelberger, they could not close the gap completely.
