The Wayne State University baseball team is set to begin its postseason journey in the 2025 GLIAC Tournament. The tournament will take place at Jackson Field in Lansing, home of the Lansing Lugnuts. Wayne State, with an overall record of 24-26 and a conference record of 12-12, is seeded third and will face fourth-seeded Parkside, which has a record of 30-19 overall and 12-12 in the conference. The game is scheduled for Thursday night with the first pitch at 7 p.m.

In their recent four-game series against Parkside, Wayne State split the series with two wins and two losses. Jacoby Dale was notable for his performance, hitting .375 over the four games. Other standout players included Aidan Arbogast (.417), Caleb Sanders (.333), Ty Garza (.364), Bennett Hitzelberger (.400), and Tony Hatzigeorgiou (.333). On the pitching side, Gabe Nazelli and Macio Miller did not allow any earned runs during their appearances.

Should Wayne State win on Thursday, they will advance to face either Grand Valley State or Saginaw Valley State on Friday at 7 p.m. If they lose, they will play either Davenport or Roosevelt on Friday at 3 p.m., facing elimination.

Parkside enters the tournament under head coach Zac Charbonneau, who has seen improvement in each of his three seasons with the team. This year marks Parkside's first time winning 30 games since 2005. The Rangers rank second in batting average within the league but fifth in ERA. Key players include Peter Fusek, leading in several offensive categories such as OPS and stolen bases, as well as Dylan Sayles who leads in home runs and RBIs.

On the mound for Parkside, Noah Gerritson stands out with a team-leading ERA of 3.86 across more than 53 innings pitched.

The tournament schedule outlines various matchups across four days from May 8 to May 11.
