Wayne State track team competes at Hillsdale Last Chance Meet

Eight athletes from Wayne State University's women's outdoor track and field team participated in the Hillsdale Last Chance Meet on Wednesday.

In the 200m dash, Hanne Bastiaansen, a junior from Tessenderlo, Belgium, finished second with a time of 24.33 seconds. The 4x100m relay team, consisting of Catalla Jones, Elyse Miller, Hanne Bastiaansen, and Rachel Overgaard, secured fourth place with a time of 46.67 seconds.

Makenzie Wellner competed in the 100m hurdles final and placed 14th with a time of 15.29 seconds. In the 400m hurdles final, Keneisha Thomas claimed first place with a time of 1:00.65 seconds while Makenzie Wellner finished third at 1:03.37 seconds.

In field events, Ava Steinhebel took part in the high jump and finished 11th with a height of 1.53 meters. Annabelle Smith also placed 11th in the long jump with a distance of 4.97 meters.

The team's next competition is scheduled for Friday at the Len Paddock Open in Ann Arbor.
