Ting-Yu Kuo from Wayne State University is set to compete in the NCAA Championship Finals. The event will take place at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, from Tuesday through Thursday. Kuo is among 98 individuals participating in the stroke play portion of the championship.
Kuo recently secured a tie-for-third position among 89 student-athletes at the NCAA East Regional held last Wednesday at The Meadows Golf Course in Allendale, Michigan. Her performance earned her a spot in this week's finals as she was the top-ranked individual not on one of the top five advancing teams.
During the regional competition, Kuo recorded a three-round total of 220 (+4), with scores of 74, 77, and an impressive 69 on day three. This score was notable as it was the only round scored in the 60s by any player during that tournament or by any Warrior this season. Her final round effort moved her up seven positions from a tie-for-10th to a tie-for-third. Additionally, her score of 69 marked Wayne State University's first sub-70 round since April 2023 and came within four strokes of Maisarah Hezri's program record of 65.
Kuo's tee times are scheduled for 7:50 a.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday and 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday. On Thursday, her tee time will be determined based on her standings after the first two days.
