The Wayne State University softball program has appointed Lindsey Hibbs as the graduate assistant coach for the 2025-26 academic year. Head coach Nicole Tines expressed her enthusiasm about Hibbs joining the team, stating, "We are thrilled to be welcoming Lindsey into our program." Tines highlighted that Hibbs will oversee the pitching staff and praised her devotion and passion for softball.
Hibbs hails from Brampton, Ontario, where she spent the previous year at Upper Deck Baseball Academy and offered private pitching lessons. Her collegiate career at Adelphi University was distinguished by numerous accolades. She was a two-time Academic All-American and received recognition as the 2023 D2CCA National Pitcher of the Year. Additionally, she was acknowledged on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll every semester and earned multiple D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards.
On the field, Hibbs achieved a record of 75-28 in 126 appearances with an ERA of 1.16. She recorded 30 shutouts and struck out 995 batters over 684.2 innings while maintaining a low opponent batting average of .166. Her impressive statistics include eight saves and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 10.4.
Hibbs ranks prominently in Adelphi's records: third in innings pitched and shutouts, tied-for-first in wins and saves, and first in strikeouts with a total far surpassing her peers. Her junior year saw her setting school records for both wins (28) and strikeouts (397).
In addition to being named a First Team All-American by both NFCA and D2CCA in 2023, Hibbs was also honored as an NFCA First Team All-Region honoree for three consecutive years (2022-24) and was awarded MVP at the NE10 Tournament in 2023.
