Wayne State University women's tennis player Anais Ruyssen has been recognized as a Second Team Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators (CSC). This is the third time in her career that Ruyssen has received this honor, making her the fourth three-time honoree in Wayne State's history.

Ruyssen graduated with a bachelor's degree in Management in May 2024, achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.78. She is currently pursuing an MBA. Her academic accolades include being named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Scholar-Athlete three times and being part of the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team on three occasions. Additionally, she has twice received both the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award and the GLIAC Commissioner's Award. In 2024, she was voted Academic All-American of the Year by CSC.

On the tennis court, Ruyssen has been honored as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Year three times (2021-22, 2023-24, and 2024-25), becoming the first player to achieve this feat in at least 25 years. She was named First Team All-GLIAC during each of her four seasons at Wayne State and contributed to three consecutive NCAA Tournament quarterfinal appearances for her team. She ranks third in program history with 95 doubles wins and is tied for fourth all-time with 84 singles victories. Her career singles winning percentage of .750 places her 19th in Wayne State women's tennis history.

In addition to these achievements, Ruyssen was named Midwest Senior Player of the Year by ITA this year. She ended the season ranked No. 10 among singles players in the Midwest region, while her partnership with Dea Gorgide earned them a fifth-place regional ranking and a national rank of 31st.

Competing at No.1 positions for both singles and doubles matches, Ruyssen led Wayne State to an undefeated record within GLIAC play this year, securing a runner-up finish in their tournament and reaching NCAA quarterfinals.

Wayne State's list of three-time Academic All-Americans includes Elly Maleski from Women's Swimming; Ransome Allen from Men's Cross Country; Trevor Jones from Men's Swimming; alongside Anais Ruyssen from Women's Tennis.
