The Wayne State University softball program is set to host a one-day Prospect Camp on Sunday, August 3, at the Gary L. Bryce Field/WSU Softball Stadium in Detroit. The camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with check-in scheduled between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
This event is aimed at players graduating in the years 2027, 2028, and 2029. The cost of participation is $100, which includes a camp t-shirt. In case of rain, activities will be moved to the Doris J. and Donald L. Duchene, Sr. Athletic Facility.
Participants are advised to bring essential equipment such as helmets, gloves, bats, cleats or gym shoes/turf shoes, water, and lunch. The camp will feature interaction with Wayne State coaching staff and current Warrior softball student-athletes for the 2025-2026 season.
The schedule includes morning drill work focusing on offense, defense, pitching, catching, and base running skills followed by live games in the afternoon. A question-and-answer session with student-athletes is also part of the program.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m., followed by introductions at 9:00 a.m., skill rotations from 9:20 a.m., and live game play starting at 1:00 p.m., concluding with a wrap-up at 3:25 p.m.
To participate in the camp, attendees must complete the WSU Sports Consent/Liability Waiver Form and Parent & Athlete Concussion Information Sheet before arrival. These forms should be submitted during registration on the day of the camp.
