Twelve members of the 2024 Wayne State University volleyball team have been recognized with GLIAC All-Academic honors. Over the past nine years, 109 student-athletes from the university's volleyball program have achieved this recognition.
The criteria for receiving these accolades require that a student-athlete must be an active roster member at the end of the season and not be a true freshman or first-year transfer student.
Eight athletes received All-Academic Excellence Team honors for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5. These include senior Keilyn Carpenter, sophomore Kayla Dulgar, redshirt freshman Aubree Garcia, junior Kayla Giroux, senior Molly Miller, redshirt senior Carly Rodman, sophomore Katie Smith, and senior Ella Uganski.
Carpenter and Uganski earned their third consecutive honor, while Giroux became a two-time member. Dulgar, Garcia, Miller, Rodman, and Smith were recognized for the first time.
Four additional representatives were named to the All-Academic Team for having a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49: junior Kendyl Andrews, redshirt junior Leigha Baldwin, graduate Jenna Kray, and sophomore Maya Wegand.
Kray was honored for the fourth consecutive year; her first three recognitions were on the Excellence Team. Andrews and Baldwin became two-time recipients while Wegand made her debut in eligibility this season.
