Wayne State University's women's indoor track and field team has set a new record with 30 athletes receiving GLIAC All-Academic honors for the 2024-25 season. This achievement surpasses the previous school record of 19, which was matched last year. Over the past five years, 122 team members have been recognized with Academic All-GLIAC honors.
To qualify for this recognition, student-athletes must be active members of the roster at the end of the season and cannot be freshmen or first-year transfer students. The grade-point averages considered are calculated through the fall semester.
The All-Academic Excellence Team includes those with a cumulative GPA between 3.5 and 4.0. Notable mentions include Hanne Bastiaansen from Tessenderlo, Belgium, with a GPA of 3.84 in Global Studies; Robin Bresolin from LaSalle, Ontario, with a GPA of 3.81 in Environmental Science Honors; and Mattie Drennan from Clarkston, Michigan, who achieved a perfect GPA of 4.00 in Exercise and Sport Science.
The All-Academic Team recognizes those with GPAs ranging from 3.0 to 3.49. Among these honorees are Iyana Coates from East Lansing, Michigan, studying Psychology with a GPA of 3.17; Rachel Felstow from Leonard, Michigan, studying Biological Sciences with a GPA of 3.40; and Annalee Misch from Macomb, Michigan, studying Technology, Information Systems and Analytics with a GPA of 3.45.
This year's recognition highlights Wayne State University's commitment to academic excellence among its student-athletes.
