Wayne State University's baseball team has set a new record with 20 student-athletes earning academic honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for the 2024-25 season. Among them, 16 were named to the All-Academic Excellence Team, surpassing their previous record of 15 in the 2020-21 season.

The criteria for selection require that student-athletes be active members of the roster at the end of the season and not be freshmen or first-year transfer students. Grade-point averages are calculated through the winter semester.

The All-Academic Excellence Team includes Brady Blakita, Jacoby Dale, Drew Dawson, Will DeMasse, Tony Hatzigeorgiou, Bennett Hitzelberger, Evan Langlois, TJ McAllister, Mason McGuire, Macio Miller, Gabe Nazelli, Reagan Paulina, Coy Plummer, Keegan Pulford-Thorpe, Owen Tuccinardi, and Gabe Zeldes. These athletes achieved GPAs ranging from 3.5 to 4.0.

The All-Academic Team recognized Drew Hill, Gavin Nash, Logan Van Sicklen, and Zach Warner for maintaining GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49.

Dale, Hitzelberger, Nazelli, McGuire, and Paulina also received CSC Academic All-District accolades. Additionally, McGuire was awarded a GLIAC Commissioner's Award and was voted Second Team All-Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA).
