The Wayne State University Department of Athletics has revealed the themes for its 2025 football season. The season kicks off on Thursday, September 4, with a home game against Tiffin.
Wayne State will also play against Quincy and three GLIAC rivals: Michigan Tech, Davenport, and Grand Valley State. Season tickets are available for $60 plus taxes and fees. Individual game tickets are priced at $15 per game, with senior tickets at $10 each.
The theme for the opening game on September 4 against Tiffin is "Black Out," featuring a night-time celebration as the sun sets. On September 27, when WSU faces Quincy, the theme is "Beach Day," encouraging fans to enjoy surf vibes and summer tunes in beach attire.
For the October 4 match against Michigan Tech, it's "Homecoming and Throwback Day," inviting alumni to wear vintage Wayne State gear. The October 18 game versus Davenport is themed "Rep the 313," celebrating Detroit pride.
The final home game on November 1 against Grand Valley State is designated as "Superhero Day." This event will honor local first responders and healthcare workers while recognizing seniors playing their last home game. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes since it coincides with Halloween festivities.
