Head coach Tim Koth and the Wayne State University volleyball program have revealed the schedule for the 2025 season. The Warriors will play 26 regular season matches, with 22 against Midwest Region opponents, 16 as part of GLIAC action, and 12 at home in the Matthaei Center.
"I believe our 2025 schedule, as in past years, is set up to give us the opportunity to meet NCAA criterion for postseason play," said Koth. "We open with an outstanding field for the Warrior Invitational and then head to New York for three matches against NCAA Tournament teams from last season. The GLIAC is one of the strongest conferences in NCAA Division II. This year, I believe the league will maybe be as competitively deep as it has ever been, which is exciting! It should make for some exciting matches in the Matthaei Arena this fall!"
The season begins on September 5-6 with four matches over two days during the Warrior Invitational's tenth installment. Wayne State will face Upper Iowa and Northwood on Friday before competing against Cedarville and Winona State on Saturday. Subsequently, WSU continues its non-conference schedule with three games at Daemen's Wildcat Classic on September 12-13 in Amherst, N.Y., where they will play Dallas Baptist (first-ever meeting), Clarion, and host Wildcats.
In GLIAC competition, Wayne State will face Saginaw Valley State, Lake Superior State, Davenport, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, and Purdue Northwest twice each—once at home and once away. They will have single meetings against Parkside (home), Roosevelt (home), Michigan Tech (away), and Northern Michigan (away). These league dates are interspersed with WSU's participation in three matches during the Midwest Regional Crossover in Hammond, Ind., on October 17-18.
The regular season concludes on November 14 at home against PNW. The top four seeds of the league will host a GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal contest on November 19; winners advance to semifinals hosted by the top remaining seed along with title match scheduled for November 22-23.
