The Wayne State University men's cross country team has announced the addition of three new student-athletes for the 2025-26 academic year. Head coach Grant Lofdahl, now in his eighth year leading the program, confirmed that freshmen Ishaan Kundapur and Neil Oyer, along with transfer Glen Davis, will join the Warriors this fall. These athletes complete a recruiting class that also includes earlier signees James Latstetter and Ayden McDonald.

Glen Davis transfers to Wayne State after competing at both St. Clair County Community College (SC4) and Spring Arbor University. During the 2024-25 season, Davis participated in four regular-season meets as well as championship events such as the Crossroads League Championship and NAIA Cross Country National Championship. He posted a season-best time of 25:10.2 at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Missouri, finished 23rd at his conference meet, and helped Spring Arbor win its first league title since 2004. At SC4 during 2023-24, he broke the school’s 8K record with a time of 25:35.8 and won an individual title at Marion University's Ancilla College Charger Invitational.

Davis graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 2023 where he was a two-year letterwinner in cross country under coach Paul Nevado and twice earned All-Macomb Area Conference honors. He improved his state meet performance each year and also competed in track events including relays and distance races.

Coach Lofdahl said about Davis: "Glen is a runner with a lot of experience and training under his belt already, and should have a smooth transition to the DII level. He had some outstanding results at both St. Clair Community College and at Spring Arbor, running in the low-to-mid 25 minute range for 8K several times. He's a highly motivated young man who has been putting in great work over the summer, and certainly has the potential to be a varsity guy and make our team better right away."

Ishaan Kundapur joins from Northville High School where he was part of three state championship teams coached by Tim Dalton. Kundapur contributed to back-to-back state titles for Northville’s cross country team by scoring points at key meets including regionals and state finals. His personal bests include running seventh at the KLAA Championships with a time of 15:50.90 for cross country as well as qualifying for multiple events at state track meets.

Lofdahl commented on Kundapur: "We've been fortunate to build a great relationship with Coach Tim Dalton and the program at Northville, and Ishaan is the latest in a line of Mustangs who became Warriors. He was a part of three state championship teams, and a varsity runner for the past two years. He had an excellent senior track season, and with time to adjust to the 8K and 10K distances and to collegiate competition, has the talent and the toughness to be a difference maker for us."

Neil Oyer comes from Traverse City Central High School where he earned All-Big North Conference honors twice as well as all-region recognition under coaches Bryan Burns, Eric Houghton, Bryant Wilson. Oyer qualified for state finals after placing fifteenth at regionals with his best cross country time of 16:29.8; he also excelled on relay teams that won conference championships.

Coach Lofdahl added about Oyer: "Neil was a late addition to our men's squad for this recruiting class, and we're glad to be adding him to the mix. He was a key runner for the excellent Traverse City Central program, and came on strong as a senior. He is not a guy who will have any pressure to produce as a freshman, but with some hard work and determination, he has the mentality to be a solid runner at the collegiate level in the future."

All three student-athletes plan academic majors ranging from Business Administration (Davis), Finance (Kundapur), to Film or Music Technology (Oyer).
