Wayne State University’s baseball program has announced the signing of four freshmen position players ahead of the upcoming season. Head coach Ryan Kelley, entering his 18th year with the Warriors, introduced the new recruits: Cooper Clark, Carter Cline, Brayden Crowe, and Landon Ide.

“This group features catcher/infielder Cooper Clark (London, Ont.), middle infielder Carter Cline (Orchard Lake, Mich. / Orchard Lake St. Mary's), catcher Brayden Crowe (Brighton, Mich. / Hartland), and infielder/pitcher Landon Ide (Fort Myers, Fla. / Bonita Springs),” Kelley stated.

Cooper Clark is a graduate of Lord Dorchester Secondary School in Ontario and played for the Great Lake Canadians under coach Chris Robinson. He plans to major in Early & Elementary Education at Wayne State.

Carter Cline graduated from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in Michigan where he was a three-year varsity letterwinner for coaches Matt Petry and Nick DiPonio. He helped his team reach the state semifinals and led with nine stolen bases during his senior year. Cline received academic honors and intends to major in Finance.

Brayden Crowe comes from Hartland High School in Michigan where he played under coach Brad Guenther, a Wayne State Hall of Fame inductee. Crowe contributed to his team’s MHSAA Division 1 state title win in 2025 and earned All-KLAA and All-County honors as well as Scholar-Athlete recognition. He plans to study Civil Engineering.

Landon Ide is a graduate of Bonita Springs High School in Florida where he was a four-year letterwinner coached by David Sadler. Ide was named to the News-Press All-Area First Team after batting .365 with a .474 on-base percentage and recording a 1.80 ERA during his senior season. He served as Senior Class President and will major in Criminal Justice at Wayne State.

Kelley noted that another recruit announcement featuring four freshmen pitchers will be released soon.
