Wayne State women's golf stands sixth after day one of Warrior Invitational

Wayne State University's women's golf team is currently in sixth place after the first 36 holes of the Warrior Invitational, which is being held at Washington, Michigan. The event features 13 teams and will conclude with a final round on Tuesday.

After two rounds, Wayne State posted scores of 308 and 317 for a total of 625, which puts them at +49. They are one stroke behind Northwood University, which sits in fifth place with a score of 624 (+48).

Among individual competitors, Sonia Bayahya is tied for 14th place with a score of 153 (+9) after rounds of 74 and 79. Claudia Portillo is tied for 17th at +10 (154), Clara Laffitte is tied for 27th at +14 (158), Orianna Bylsma holds the 34th spot at +16 (160), and Ting-Yu Kuo is tied for 45th at +21 (165).

Grand Valley State leads the tournament with a combined score of +11 (587). Findlay follows in second place at +17 (593), while Davenport is third at +34 (610). Ferris State and Northwood round out the top five.

The tournament will finish with an additional round on Tuesday as Wayne State aims to improve its position on the leaderboard.
