The Wayne State University men's golf team is set to host the Motor City Shakedown tournament at TPC Michigan on Monday and Tuesday. The competition will include 36 holes on the first day, followed by a final round on the second day.

Head coach Mike Horn commented on the condition of the course and his expectations for the team. "TPC's in fabulous shape," said Horn. "The greens are healed and rolling very smoothly. The Warriors are planning on playing very well in really nice weather. I'm looking forward to the boys really starting to come together as a team. We've gotten off to a very good start this year and we want to keep it going at our home event. It's very important for us to play the par fives well and to be consistent on the greens. This will really start to show what kind of team we can be in the future."

The starting lineup for Wayne State includes Andrew Daily (Brighton, Mich.), Troy Chapman (Lexington, Ohio), Jack Julian (South Lyon, Mich.), Josh Lahner (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park), Will Pollack (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Northern), and Harrison Chapman (Marshall, Mich.). Three individuals will also compete: Ethan Mukhtar (Farmington Hills, Mich./Orchard Lake St. Mary's) in his first career tournament, Luke Maher (Fort Gratiot, Mich./Port Huron Northern [SC4]) in his first appearance for Wayne State, and Aidan Treharne (Livonia, Mich./U. of Detroit Jesuit).

Participating teams include Davenport, Northern Michigan, Purdue Northwest, Roosevelt, and Wayne State. The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Monday.
