The Wayne State University men's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Doc Spragg Fall Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay in Ohio. The Warriors finished day one with a 36-hole score of 572, which is four under par and six shots behind the leading team, Findlay, which posted a total of 566.
Head coach Mike Horn commented on the team's performance, saying, "The Warriors really battled today and had some really good moments. Congratulations to basically the whole squad who really kept their head in it and we're grinding the entire day. Very proud of where we're at, but tomorrow is a big day to try and finish off a very successful fall season. Josh Lahner had a great 69 in the second round and Harrison Chapman had an under-par round as well. And congratulations to Jack (Julian) and Andrew (Daily) for shooting under par in the first round. We're looking to come out very strong tomorrow and make a bid for the win here in Findlay."
Individually, Josh Lahner is tied for fourth place with a total score of 141 after rounds of 72 and 69. Three other Wayne State golfers—Andrew Daily, Jack Julian, and Troy Chapman—are tied for nineteenth place with scores of 144 each. Will Pollack sits at tied forty-ninth with a score of 149 after two rounds. Competing as an individual, Harrison Chapman also posted a total score of 144.
