The Wayne State University women's cross country team secured a win at the Saginaw Valley State Red October Meet, closing out their regular season with a total of 24 points. The event took place on Friday, October 17, in University Center, Michigan.
Three Wayne State runners finished among the top five. Remi Flanz placed second with a time of 23:22.00, Reese Hansen came in fourth at 23:41.91, and Paige McArdle finished fifth with a time of 24:12.27. Additional contributions came from Jessica Denver, who finished eighth overall at 24:38.94, and Rachel Felstow, who placed twelfth at 26:26.72.
The team will now focus on preparing for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championship scheduled for Saturday, October 25. This year's championship will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the Calvin University Cross Country Course and is hosted by Davenport University. The women's 6K race is set to start at 11:00 AM.
