Max Wasiniak, a junior from Huron, Ohio, has been named the GLIAC Diver of the Week for the fourth time in his career and for the first time this season. The announcement was made by the league on Tuesday.
Wasiniak competed for the first time this season on Saturday during Wayne State's inaugural Detroit Diving Classic. He secured victories in both the one-meter and three-meter events, achieving final scores of 475.30 and 489.35, respectively. These results allowed him to earn the first of two required national qualifying marks.
Head diving coach Jason Trout commented on Wasiniak's performance: "Max has been locked in all season and the recognition from winning GLIAC Diver of the Week is well deserved," said Trout. "He's had an excellent start to the season and continues to put in the work on a daily basis."
After participating in the Alumni Meet on October 24, Wasiniak and his teammates, along with the women's team, are scheduled to compete at Northern Michigan on November 7-8.
