Six female student-athletes from Wayne State University have been recognized with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors. This recognition, announced on June 17, acknowledges their academic and athletic achievements in NCAA sports included in the “At-Large” category such as fencing and golf.

To be eligible for this honor, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher both academically and athletically, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and participate in at least 70% of their team’s competitions.

The honorees include fencers Salma Abdrabou, Reka Galfalvy, Vika Shevchenko, Ludovica Mancini, Mehreen Siddiqui, and golfer Sabel Imesch. Each has demonstrated excellence both in their sport and academics.

Salma Abdrabou earned her first CSC Academic All-District nod after competing in six events during the 2024-25 season with an 86-41 record in epee. She holds a GPA of 3.98 while majoring in Technology, Information Systems and Analytics.

Reka Galfalvy participated in seven competitions with a 106-46 bout record this year. Majoring in Marketing, she maintains a GPA of 3.90.

Ludovica Mancini has received CSC Academic All-District honors for two consecutive years. She has qualified for the NCAA Fencing Championships three times and holds a GPA of 3.96 as a Global Studies major.

Vika Shevchenko ends her career as WSU’s all-time wins leader in epee with 245 victories. She has maintained a GPA of 3.71 while pursuing degrees in Exercise & Sport Science.

Mehreen Siddiqui has been honored twice on the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team and maintains a perfect GPA of 4.00 while studying Biochemistry and Chemical Biology Honors.

Golfer Sabel Imesch is recognized for her performance both academically and athletically with a GPA of 3.72 as she pursues Global Supply Chain Management.

Galfalvy and Mancini will proceed to the Division I national ballot for Women’s At-Large Academic All-Americans to be announced on July 8.
