Wayne State University student-athletes Kayla Giroux, Sarah Greb, and Eli DiCerbo have been named nominees for the inaugural fall Allstate National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Good Works Team. Giroux, a senior volleyball player, and Greb, a senior cross country runner, were among 97 female nominees nationwide and are the only representatives from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in their category. DiCerbo, a redshirt senior in cross country, is one of 31 male nominees overall and the sole GLIAC nominee among men.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team recognizes student-athletes who excel academically, athletically, and through community service. This year’s list includes 128 student-athletes from all collegiate levels. Nominees were put forward by athletics administrators, conference office staff, and coaches based on leadership, service, and character.

Each institution could nominate up to one male and one female athlete per fall sport. Eligible nominees must have completed at least one year of college coursework at either a two-year or four-year institution. The selection committee will choose a final team of 20—10 men and 10 women—which will be announced on August 26. One student captain will also be selected.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team was established in 2024 to honor male and female athletes across all divisions for leadership in community service as well as achievements in academics and sports. It builds upon the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team that has recognized college football players since 1992.

Elizabeth Brady, Allstate’s chief marketing, customer and communications officer said: “These student-athletes represent the kind of leadership that strengthens communities across the country and prove that purpose and impact go hand in hand with athletic excellence.”

NACDA is an association representing more than 23,000 college athletics administrators at over 2,300 institutions throughout North America. The organization manages professional associations and foundations for athletics administration professionals; more information can be found at www.nacda.com.
