Wayne State University’s baseball team decisively defeated Findlay 21-6 in a non-conference matchup on Tuesday afternoon, bringing their record to 17-15. The victory avenges a defeat to the Oilers a week earlier in Detroit. Now, the Warriors will turn their attention to league play against Saginaw Valley State over four games this coming weekend.

The game saw Wayne State surging ahead with runs distributed across several innings, including an impressive 11-run seventh inning. The team’s 13 walks marked a high point for the Warriors over the last six years.

Drew Hill, positioned at the top of the lineup, contributed significantly by walking three times, a total nearing Findlay’s team count of five. Hill was joined in patience at the plate by Caleb Sanders and Noah Murciano, both of whom also walked multiple times.

Reagan Paulina and Caleb Sanders emerged as key offensive contributors, driving in numerous runs. Paulina ended the day 3-for-4, recording six RBIs, a double, and a sacrifice fly, while Sanders went 2-for-3, contributing four runs and five RBIs, supplemented by walks and a sacrifice hit.

Starting on the mound for Wayne State, Miles Jamieson pitched two innings, allowing only one hit and two walks. Keegan Pulford-Thorpe followed, delivering four scoreless innings and earning the victory. Pulford-Thorpe allowed just three hits, with five strikeouts. Coy Plummer also offered a strong performance, pitching two scoreless innings, allowing two hits with two strikeouts. Oscar Pace concluded the day for Wayne State by pitching the ninth inning in his third appearance this season.
