The Wayne State University athletic season concluded as two track athletes participated in the NCAA Division II Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Thunderbowl in Pueblo, Colorado.

Coach Lofdahl expressed pride in the athletes’ achievements, stating, “It is a major accomplishment to qualify for the NCAA championships, especially when you look how much more difficult it’s become in the past few seasons. Both Reagan and Keneisha worked very hard to get to this point, and had the added challenge of competing at high altitude for the first time in their careers.”

Keneisha Thomas, a redshirt sophomore from Madison Heights, Michigan, finished 20th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:01.39. Coach Lofdahl commented on her performance by saying it was “a great learning experience” despite not being her best race of the season.

Senior Reagan Justice from Canton, Michigan, competed in her final event as a Warrior athlete. She placed 19th in the 10,000m run with a time of 37:08.13. Reflecting on Justice’s career, Coach Lofdahl said she is “certainly the most accomplished cross country and distance runner in WSU history to this point,” acknowledging her positive impact on the program.

Justice’s performance saw her navigate through various positions during the race before securing her final spot at 19th place. Her last 400m was completed in 1:24.24, marking it as her third fastest split of that race.

Although high-end goals were not achieved at Pueblo, Coach Lofdahl praised both athletes for their top-20 finishes and emphasized pride from both coaching staff and team members.
