Wayne State University’s baseball team secured a decisive 14-4 victory over Purdue Northwest in their final regular-season series on Tuesday. The game, which lasted seven innings, saw Wayne State (22-24 overall, 10-10 GLIAC) defeat Purdue Northwest (15-25 overall, 3-17 GLIAC) with a significant offensive performance, recording 14 runs on 12 hits. The Warriors’ next challenge is a four-game home series against Parkside, starting Friday.

The team was dominant throughout the game, scoring six runs in the second inning, followed by two in the third, four in the fifth, and two in the sixth. This commanding win featured multiple contributions from the players, with Drew Hill, Caleb Sanders, Aidan Arbogast, and Mason McGuire each producing multiple hits.

Drew Hill, a standout performer, went 3-for-4 and hit two home runs, marking the first time he achieved this in his career. His efforts contributed to his team-leading six home runs this season. Other notable performances included Reagan Paulina, who added a solo home run, and Jacoby Dale with a two-run home run. Hill, Arbogast, McGuire, and Dale each drove in multiple runs during the game.

Miles Jamieson began the game on the mound for Wayne State, allowing two earned runs on two hits in three innings. Will DeMasse, the first reliever, earned the victory with two and two-thirds innings of work, allowing one earned run on three hits. Braylon Laroo and Ethan Getting contributed in relief, with Getting closing out the game against his former team.
