The Wayne State University men’s golf team will participate in the UIndy’s Ken Partridge Invitational from Sunday to Tuesday. This tournament marks the second-to-last competition of the regular season for the Warriors, preceding the regional rounds. The event will take place at the Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.

“This is a big event for the Warriors,” said head coach Mike Horn. Coach Horn stressed the importance of this tournament as the “last large regional group to compete against.” He emphasized the necessity of preparation for adverse weather conditions, including cold, wind, and rain, predicting a challenging event. Coach Horn added, “As we continue to get good play from the top of the lineup, if the bottom of our lineup matches that, we will be in fantastic condition. I think we will battle very hard this weekend. I have no doubt we’ll be able to overcome the weather and post a very good finish.”

The lineup set for Wayne State includes Josh DiCarlo from Amherstburg, Ontario, Max Leppelmeier from Wauseon, Ohio, Tyler Hurtubise from Essex, Ontario, Luc Warnock from McGregor, Ontario, and Ian Smith from Canton, Michigan. Josh Lahner from Roselle, Illinois, will participate independently.

The tournament field hosts numerous schools, including some nationally ranked teams. Participating universities include #7 Grand Valley State, #18 Missouri S&T, #22 Wayne State itself, and #53 Ferris State, among others.

Coach Horn concluded, “Be ready to battle, Warriors,” preparing his team for the impending challenge.
