The Wayne State University men’s golf team is set to participate in the Findlay Spring Invitational, taking place at Boone’s Trace National Golf Club in Richmond, Kentucky. The competition will be held over two days, with 36 holes scheduled for Monday and an additional 18 on Tuesday.

Head coach Mike Horn emphasized the significance of this event for the Warriors, noting that it marks their first opportunity in the spring season to face all regional opponents. “This is an important week for the Warriors,” said Horn. “We’re looking for the team to gel and come together. So far every event, we’ve only had a couple of guys play well and we’re looking for all the guys to play well together.”

Horn also acknowledged Max Leppelmeier’s recent tournament victory and expressed optimism about the upcoming competition: “Congratulations again to Max Leppelmeier last week on his win and looking forward to a good week here in Richmond, Kentucky at Boone’s Trace.”

The lineup for Wayne State includes Josh DiCarlo from Amherstburg, Ontario; Max Leppelmeier from Wauseon, Ohio; Luc Warnock from McGregor, Ontario; Tyler Hurtubise from Essex, Ontario; and Andrew Daily from Brighton, Michigan. Additionally, Josh Lahner from Roselle, Illinois will compete as an individual.

The tournament field features several nationally ranked teams including Missouri S&T (#18), Missouri-St. Louis (#25), Wayne State (#26), Findlay (#46), Ashland (#56), Shorter (#58), Hillsdale (#59), Ohio Dominican (#70), Saginaw Valley State (#72), McKendree (#80), Tiffin (#90), Maryville (#103), Drury (#104), Northwood (#134), Kentucky Wesleyan (#143), Lake Superior State (#161), Walsh (#164), and Thomas More (#194).
