Wayne State softball players earn All-GLIAC recognition

Wayne State University’s softball team has seen four of its players recognized by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) for their performances this season. The announcement was made by the league office.

Sophomore Logan Forman, a catcher from Brantford, Ontario, has been named to the All-GLIAC First Team. Forman achieved a batting average of .404 in conference play, appearing in all 28 league games. She led the team in several statistical categories, including extra-base hits and slugging percentage. Forman also recorded 16 RBIs and held a .465 on-base percentage.

Freshman Katelyn DeWitt, hailing from Grand Blanc, Michigan, made the All-GLIAC Second Team as a third baseman. She maintained a .985 fielding percentage while starting 25 games and recorded a .359 on-base percentage during the season.

Sophomore Molly Hool from Allen Park, Michigan, and freshman Elly Koopman from Hudsonville, Michigan, both received Honorable Mention All-GLIAC honors. Hool excelled with a batting average of .323 and played error-free defense. Koopman led the team with 17 RBIs in GLIAC games and also showcased her skills as a pitcher.

The Wayne State University team is set to compete in the 2025 GLIAC Tournament, with their first game scheduled for tomorrow in Rosemont, Illinois.
