The Wayne State University men’s swimming and diving team achieved a tie for ninth place among 34 teams at the NCAA Championships on Thursday night. The team scored 45 points, contributed by eight athletes across three events.

In the 400 IM consolation final, Clayton Kinnard secured 13th place with a time of 3:54.62, while Gabriel Arias finished in 16th place with a time of 3:58.91.

The team’s performance in the 400 medley relay resulted in a 14th-place finish with a time of 3:13.59. The relay team consisted of Olin Charnstrom, Clayton Kinnard, Lorenzo Tassinari, and Tomas Osorio.

In the three-meter dive championship final, Julio Osuna earned second place with a score of 571.30, and Max Wasiniak took fourth place with a score of 506.15. John Martin participated in the consolation final and finished in 15th place with a score of 461.05.

Preliminary action for day four is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
