The women’s golf team from Wayne State University is set to resume competition after a brief hiatus since mid-March. Their upcoming challenge will be at the Ohio Dominican NC4K Classic, taking place on Monday and Tuesday at Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio. The Warriors will join 15 other teams in this competition.
“We’re really looking forward to getting back to competing,” stated Larry Hamilton, head coach of Wayne State. He noted that while the forecast suggests cooler weather, the course conditions are promising, and the event’s strong lineup will contribute to a competitive atmosphere. Hamilton emphasized that this tournament marks the beginning of a busy four-week schedule for the team, and they aim to start this period positively.
The lineup for Wayne State includes:
1. Claudia Portillo from Madrid, Spain, a freshman.
2. Ting-Yu Kuo from Taipei, Taiwan, also a freshman.
3. Junior Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan.
4. Junior Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan.
5. Redshirt senior Sophia Wygonik from Westland, Michigan, formerly at Eastern Michigan.
