The Wayne State University women’s golf team is set to begin the spring segment of its 2024-25 schedule. The team will participate in USC Beaufort’s Oldfield Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at Oldfield Golf Club in Okatie, South Carolina. The competition includes a 14-team field, with two rounds scheduled for the first day and a final round on the second day. Both days will start with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun.

“We can’t wait to get the season started,” said head coach Larry Hamilton. “We’ve had a good week here in Texas preparing and are looking forward to a new event for us in South Carolina. Everybody’s worked very hard this winter to get ready and I know they’re all excited to tee it up!”

The lineup for Wayne State features Claudia Portillo from Madrid, Spain, Ting-Yu Kuo from Taipei, Taiwan, Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan, Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, and Sophia Wygonik from Westland, Michigan.

Participating teams include Carson-Newman (#31), Ferris State (#36), Limestone (#41), UIndy (#42), Mount Olive (#57), Wayne State (#61), Glenville State (#71), Catawba (#89), Coker (#92), Columbus State (#95). Also competing are Savannah College of Art and Design (NAIA #3), Truett McConnell (NAIA #14), Coastal Georgia (NAIA #21) and Eastern Florida State (JuCo #5).
