Wayne State University’s women’s outdoor track and field team is set to compete at the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Invite, taking place on Saturday at the OU Elaine Leigh Track & Field Complex. The team will field athletes across numerous events.

In the 100m Dash, scheduled for 1:10 PM, participants include Hanne Bastiaansen, Iyana Coates, Elyse Miller, Annabelle Smith, Avery Wilson, and Lauren Wooten. The 200m Dash at 3:30 PM will see Coates, Emmanuela Johnson, Catalla Jones, Renae Kutcha, and Rachel Overgaard competing.

For the 400m Dash at 2:30 PM, Tianna Bennett and Rachel Felstow will represent the team. The 800m Run, with a start time of 12:10 PM, will feature Jessica Denver, Anna Gdowski, Sydney Smith, and Meagan Verellen. The 1,500m Run starting at 4:05 PM will include Mattie Drennan, Felstow, Layla Martini, Paige McArdle, Aubrey Migoski, Annalee Misch, and Emilee Rudlaff.

Participants in the 100m Hurdles at 12:45 PM include Keneisha Thomas, Makenzie Wellner, and Megan Zahnow. In the 400m Hurdles at 3:05 PM, Wellner will compete. Taylor Hopkins will represent the team in the 3,000m Steeplechase at 1:30 PM.

The 4x100m Relay will take place at 12:00 PM, with Team A consisting of Miller, Wilson, Bastiaansen, and Overgaard, and Team B comprising Wooten, Bennett, Johnson, and Jones. In field events, Olivia Findlay, Gracie Klink, and Ava Steinhebel will compete in the High Jump at 2:30 PM, while Annabelle Smith will participate in the Long Jump at 11:30 AM, followed by the Triple Jump with participants Findlay, Kutcha, Steinhebel, and Nicole Warren.

In the Shot Put at 2:30 PM, competitors include Makayla Stewart and Idalia Shadhaya. The Discus event, subsequent to the hammer, will feature Stewart and Ania Toboy. The Hammer event begins at 10:00 AM with Stewart and Toboy participating, and the Javelin will occur at 12:00 PM with Peyton Hansen and Shadhaya.

The men’s cross country team will also be competing at OU. In the Men’s 1,500m Run at 4:35 PM, team members include Tyler Brothers, Griffin Conway, Brady Heron, Aidan Lobsinger, Sam Martini, Ethan Muraszewski, Sean Pettis, Jared Platt, Ethan Pruzinsky, Gabe Trevino, and Andrew Yax. In the Men’s 5,000m Run at 5:45 PM, Ian Lewis and Kenny Minto will race.

Next, the Warriors will compete at the CMU Chippewa Challenge in Mount Pleasant on Saturday, April 12.
