Mason McGuire, a senior utility player from Wayne State University, has been named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-Region. This recognition follows his selection as Second Team All-GLIAC at two positions: catcher and second base.

McGuire participated in 51 of Wayne State’s 55 games this season, starting in 49 of them across six different positions. His versatility was evident with starts at catcher, shortstop, second base, right field, third base, and center field. Despite these varied roles, he achieved a career-high batting average of .341.

Throughout the season, McGuire led his team with 40 runs scored and 34 RBIs. He also recorded nine doubles and three home runs while maintaining an on-base percentage of .432. His performance included 16 multi-hit games and eight multi-RBI outings.

In addition to his regular-season accomplishments, McGuire was named to the GLIAC All-Tournament Team after hitting .316 during the tournament. His defensive contributions were primarily as a catcher and third baseman during these games.
