The office of Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson recently issued additional guidance to voters regarding safe practices for those who choose to vote in person on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
In a YouTube video created to offer advice to voters, Benson discussed Election Day procedures with Ann Arbor City Clerk Jackie Beaudry and Lansing City Clerk Chris Swope, who is also the current president of the Michigan Association of Municipal Clerks.
“We encourage voters to wear a mask if they intend to show up to vote in person,” Benson said, according to Michigan.gov. "You’ll certainly be met with election workers wearing masks, gloves and having social-distancing guidelines in place to protect everyone’s health.”
Benson also cited the current election as “monumental” with “uncertainty on so many levels,” on Michigan.gov.
“We want the voters to have the certainty and the clarity that you have options to vote this year and that all of them are safe for you to access,” she said, according to Michigan.gov.
