WASTE COLLECTION IN LIVONIA SUBJECT TO INTERMITTENT DELAYS

Wastedisposal

City of Livonia issued the following announcement on July 19.

Residential waste collection in Livonia has been subject to intermittent delays in many neighborhoods. We apologize for this temporary situation. Unfortunately, our contractor, GFL Environmental, is facing the same staffing issues that are plaguing many employers across the region and that is causing this delay.

As a result, your waste may be collected later in the day or a day later than normal. However, we ask residents to please continue to put out waste on your regular trash day and leave it out until it is collected.

In the meantime, please use this link to report any missed trash collection after a full day. City staff is in regular contact with GFL and we are assured they are working to fix this issue, including working extra hours as well as Saturdays and Sundays, as needed.

Residents may, if they wish, take their yard waste to the Refuse Disposal Site is located at 32500 Glendale Avenue. It is located east of Farmington Road, between Schoolcraft and Plymouth Roads, one block north of the railroad overpass.  Residents should tell the GFL attendant that they have yard waste and they will not be charged to dump it. The Refuse Disposal Site is open on Fridays and Saturdays only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Thank you for your continued patience.
