Wayne State women’s golf improves to twelfth in NCAA East Regional

The Wayne State University women's golf team made progress in the NCAA East Regional at Prairie View Golf Club, moving from 15th to 12th place after the second day of competition. Beca Vestman, a key player for Wayne State, also improved her standing significantly by climbing 33 spots to tie for 11th place. She is now just two strokes away from entering the top five with one round remaining.

The individual performances of the Wayne State players are as follows: Beca Vestman scored a total of 153 (81-72) and stands at +9. Sabel Imesch from Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, and Clarita Laffitte from Montevideo, Uruguay, both scored 166 (+22), tying for 56th place. Orianna Bylsma from Montague, Michigan scored 170 (+26), placing her in a tie for 68th position. Logan Potts from Norton Shores, Michigan recorded a score of 180 (+36), ranking her in the 76th position.

The scheduled start times for Wednesday's final round are: Logan Potts at 9:15 a.m., Orianna Bylsma at 9:24 a.m., Clarita Laffitte at 9:33 a.m., Sabel Imesch at 9:42 a.m., and Beca Vestman at 9:51 a.m.

In the team standings after two days, Findlay leads with a score of +24 (600), followed by UIndy with +27 (603) and Ashland with +42 (618). Other teams in contention include Grand Valley State (+44), Davenport (+54), Missouri-St. Louis (+56), Ferris State (+58), Gannon (+64), Glenville State (+66), McKendree (+67), Franklin Pierce (+71), Wayne State (+79), Ohio Dominican (+86), Illinois Springfield (+98), and New Haven rounding out the standings with +100.
