The Wayne State University men's tennis team is set to participate in the Viking Invitational at Cleveland State University's Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion. The tournament will run for three days, starting Friday, October 24, and ending Sunday, October 26.
Recently, Wayne State players Luis Klaus from Brühl, Germany, and Harry Forsyth from Wamberal, New South Wales, Australia, competed at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Cup held from October 16 to 18. They qualified for the ITA Cup with an at-large bid after finishing second at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships. During the event, Forsyth and Klaus achieved a record of one win and two losses. Their victory came with a straight-sets win (6-4, 6-4) over a duo from Midwestern State University.
At the Viking Invitational, Wayne State will compete alongside teams from Duquesne University, Niagara University, Youngstown State University, and host Cleveland State. The tournament will feature both singles and doubles matches. There are 48 players entered in singles competition and 24 pairings set for doubles play.
